    I would take the clippings out...keep it just sand. It would be hard to scoop out with grass in it. You may need some sort of boarder around the run.     THANKS!!! We just checked again and now have our third egg in a row from our BSL. I am just love love loving this Now waiting on the other 2 I cant wait to see the color difference between their eggs....(if any)
