    Hey every one!!! Thanks for the help!! My chicks have grown SO much and will now let me pet them though they are still a bit skittish. I have one that RIR that follows me everywhere and will do everything she can to be the center of my attention (until I try to pet her, then he runs away) haha

    I have 2 barred rocks, 2 RIRs, 2 araucanas, 2 jersey giants and 4 "mystery chicks" that people from this forum have told us are more than likely leghorns.

    So, my family recently bought 12 chicks and 2 ducklings. I love them and like to hold them but they all seem to be completely terrified every time I pick them up or get anywhere near them! I really like for these chicks to be easy to handle and to enjoy being handled. Does anyone have any ideas...

    We bought them at a feed store. We bought 6 more chicks and 2 ducklings since then and 2 of the younger chicks are actually RIRs and I can definitely see the difference!

Anyhooo....in the first batch we got 2 barred rocks and 4 of what we were told were RIRs when we got home from with the chicks we started looking for info on those two specific breeds of chicken...
