Help! Clean water ideas for chickens and ducks.

Hi all! I have a flock of 5 ducks and 25 chickens. My water dishes are dog bowls that I can plug in during the winter to prevent freezing. The problem with those bowls is my ducks make a huge mess out of them. Not only does the water get dirty quickly but it's also making a mess of my chicken...

    Chicken leg issue, possibly broken?

Hello all. Yesterday evening my husband and I were outside with our dog, an Australian Shepard. She went to round up our chickens as they had gotten to close to the road and after doing so my husband noticed that we had a hen who had one leg raised off the ground and was hopping on her other...

Does anyone sell their processed birds?

Hi all! My fiance and I are in our second year of doing meat birds and we got a bit of a reputation last year for how delicious our birds were. I am curious if any of you sell your processed birds and if so for how much? We know that we will not make back any money we have put into the chickens...

    Help please! Possible broken leg.

I will get a photo a bit later today. Thank you for the advice. Maybe you will be able to make something of her injuries. My fiance seems to think her wing might be injured too so I'm trying to keep an eye on that as well.

    Help please! Possible broken leg.

This is helpful! I am hoping it's going to heal up on it's on and that be that. I had her put away like I said and I went out to check on her and she was out of the cage! Don't ask me how, I do not know. Unless a ghost came out and let them out, I had those two girls locked up! I decided that if...

    Help please! Possible broken leg.

Good afternoon everyone. I was outside with all my chickens and was allowing them to run around the yard while I did coop maintenance and got their food and water restocked. In order to prop open our chicken coop door we use a pallet. The pallet was upright and it is apparently rather windy...

    Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Just came across this post and as a Gluten free gal I know anyone would appreciate if you made gluten free pancakes. (I only just got to this thread but I thought I read something about a meet up and I'm assuming this is what that is for.) Also all of the ingredients you asked about are more...

    Better way to feed mash?

I've been trying to research fermenting feed. You can ferment mash? The same as you would any other feed, just cover the mash in unfiltered water and let it sit for a few days before feeding? Thank you for the reply.

    Better way to feed mash?

Thank you! I will have to watch and see if they eat it as is or not. If they don't then I guess I will have to get creative. :)

    Better way to feed mash?

Hi all! I just accidentally bought mash for the first time (had been doing crumbles in the past and meant to try and buy pellets but that's what I get for not asking first) My question is, Is there a better way to feed mash to my chickens than just dry so as not to waste so much? We put some...

Make your own - No waste - 5 gallon (25# feed) bucket feeder for about $3

Any chance you could give a little more instruction on your set up? This looks awesome! We are in desperate need of a new watering system and I love that you have this right on top of each other like that. I'm assuming it must be pretty easy to clean because they are liter buckets? Those lids...
