Im really thinking its a male of another breed... maybe even a maran...but with my hens ive notices that around 16 or soo there vent begins to get very large compared to the roos ...go tart getting ready to lay..compare her vent size to that of your roo of the same age to see if her/his...

the comb appears to be a pea comb from the picture and the barring looks different which leads me to believe its a BR mix, And sex wise i would say roo because of the tail feathers..

thats weird...in theory the chicks hatched from a barred rock hen and any rooster that wasnt barred should end up being black sex links, therefore only males would show barred pattern and the hens would not, its weird you got barred pullets..
