I have 6 hens all in pens with 3 cocks I averaged 42 eggs per bird last year. But I was only feeding laying mash to them all year. The earliest I got an egg last year was late February. I did maintain a 85% hatch rate last year also. So I've had very good luck with my flock!

Also you will see two light fixtures in the heat box. The plans were to have a back up bulb to kick on if it ever got below 97 but never got around to it. I suggest doing this as with the bulb running 24/7 and all the heat with no cooling they go out ALOT.

I used a large fridge the top is my heat and humidity box with a bathroom exhaust fan to pull the heat down to the eggs. Controlled my a thermostat. Also I have another exhaust fan in the egg cabinet/lower part to keep the air moving.

Or I can put it 2 more shelfs and it will hold 4 more turners.
