Blister on waddle after cat attack

She perked up when she recognized her porch and yard. The other chicken was notably depressed while she was gone. They were both happy to see one another. :)

Blister on waddle after cat attack

Thank you so very much for taking the time to help me with this; it is truly appreciated! I started the antibiotic ointment last night. This is how it looked this morning. I let her stay out in the coop and run with our one other chicken yesterday. The other chicken was really happy to have her...

Thank you! IDK why pict would not attach another way. I expected thick material to come out of the bottom with some gentle pressure, however, it did not. With some gentle pressure with a finger on the backside of the waddle (the backside is intact) some thin fluid drained from the top and it...

    Duck ate nails! Pleas help

I have only seen something similar in a human. They swallowed razor blades that had to be surgically removed. It seems that a nail would not be able to make the tight turns of the small bowel. Starting a flock

We started with 4 chicks, lost one, replaced her, and then hatched chicks the next year. I really really enjoyed starting with chicks and eggs. Ya chicks are way more maintenance but they are so much fun!

thoughts on just using chain link fence for a chicken run?

We have used a dog run for the past year, no problems. We buried the large square cinder blocks that look like an eight around the perimeter, put chicken wire from floor up 3ft on the inside, and covered the top with chain link. It is easy to clean being able to stand up in and having a dirt...

what to do with a soft egg

My friend said her dad used to poach his eggs that he got from a particular chicken that only had the membrane, no shell. I would think a soft shell egg would be ok as long as not really dirty or sat in nest for long period.
