    Albino Quail

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, we will not know with this chick because it died yesterday. It was a late hatch and it slept most of the time though it did eat and drink a little. Maybe next time.

That's what I was thinking. I was looking through some pics and it looked to be similar to the Mexican Snowflake. I will post picture when the chick is an adult.

    Albino Quail

Can anyone tell me if I have an albino chick? It's body is white with tan and black spots, but it's head is tan with a dark brown strip on top of the head. The body itself has a lot of white coloration to it with the tan and black spots throughout. I am hatching Bobwhite Quails, but this is the...

I am with you on that. I never knew South Carolina had so many people that deal with these animals. It's nice to know that we have a place to meet new people and get advice.

Have you tried giving them laying mash? I have a few Bobwhite's that have not started laying yet and I gave them some oyster shells and laying mash. I have just had 6 Georgia Giant babies hatch and I have 41 Bobwhite eggs going into the incubator by Monday. I hop that you have healthy chicks and...

I use the Dumor brand and I use the crumbles for the less waste. Now, we built a feeder out of PVC piping that reduces the waste dramatically and we use this for both the chickens and the quail.

    Yep....I am new!

Thank you. I have had 7 out of 11 hatch so far. I am so thrilled about the results. Right now, I have one that both legs are splayed, so we changed the paper out to a towel and I guess we will have to see if it will help now that it has more of a grip. We tried the bandaid trick, but the chick...

Hey y'all! It's very nice to meet everyone and happy greetings from Seneca, South Carolina! LOL. I would have responded sooner, but I have had seven of my quail chicks hatch, plus having to take care of everyone else. :) Now, just waiting on my chickens to lay.

    temp of eggs before incubating

I have some eggs that I would like to store in the refrigerator so my others can go ahead and hatch. I know that you can do this for up to ten days, but does anyone know what the temp should be in the fridge or does it matter? I don't want to kill the eggs, but I have just received my...

    Yep....I am new!

We have started our ownership of quail in November 2012 and we are looking to expand our stock and start our business, hopefully by the end of summer. We have 15 adult Bobwhite's and are currently waiting on our 11 Georgia Giant's to hatch, though they are late on arrival. LOL. I love reading...
