Several of my buffs can be very protective of their eggs, but up here in the north country i certainly don't want them to go broody for at least three months. How will I know which ones to leave on their nests and which ones to keep removing the eggs from when the time comes?

Seems like all you guys must be further south than us! We have had some delectable salads with fresh garden greens, radishes, green onions and nasturium leaves or petals, but our cucumbers and tomatoes are only beginning to flower! Have a good day folks!
The problem was we had TOO MUCH RAIN and I had stripped off the topsoil with the grass. Now that it has stopped raining, I hope to build the soil up again. Thanks for your suggestion, though.

I had this ''really great brainwave' to peel off some of the sod in front of our south flower garden in order to enlarge it. Well guess what! Looks like I am making a lake instead of a flower garden! I even put in a drainage canal! (for now?)
