I have a silkie rooster and a non bearded silkie hen and i really want a bearded hen so i was wondering if i hatch eggs from the pair is it a high chance that i will get bearded silkies or am i just wasting my time and should just order bearded silkies?
this is the hen
i really dont know about the rooster but the hen behind him in the pictures is stunning...you should by her as well...she looks like an EE and the color is amazing...one of the preatiest ive seen...
Definatly a rooster....heeavy breeds mature slower...and it if were a pullet she would not be the same height as the rooster on her side...best way to find it is to feel for spurs...they should be coming out about that time..

brahmas are sooo hard to sex cause they are very masculine even the hens...the light ones are pullets , the dark are cockerels...and the buff...i belive are also cockerels... honestly brahmas from my experience are the worst of chickens...especially the males.. on the other hand your silkie is...
Sorry to dissagree but i thinks its a Rooster...heavy breed males tend to delevope slower and dont develope full Combs till their alot older...i think its a boy because some of the tail feathers are pointy and pullets dont have those...best way to find out is to feel for a spur...if you feel it...
all roo's for me....BUT...their could be a chance sometimes pullets tend to look a little butchy when their growing up...the BEST way to find out it to feel their legs right where the spur is suppose to grow and if you feel a little bump coming...then start chopping some vegtables cause your...
