    Happy to report things have calmed down in the coop, we're getting a pretty pink egg from lady nugget every day. And I'm just thrilled that we got a nice blue egg today, WOOHOO! Not sure who layed it but I have a suspect in mind.

    very exciting! I had my first chicken as an assignment back in high school and have loved them since. They are like feathered children. I called my mother when we found our first eggs, she said congrats youre a grandma! Hehe

    Lovely eggs btw! our layer, nugget, is laying peachy colored eggs. The other 5 girls have pea and rose combs so I'm hoping for an olive egger in the flock. Nugget is the only one with a large comb and waddles.

    She layed again just a bit ago. Im thinking she just wanted the other girls to give her some privacy. Lol. She was making such a fuss tgat our silkie roo was crowing right along with her.

    Success in Carrollton, GA!

    I live in carrollton and recently got 6 chicks. I hadn't bothered to check local law until now. I was very surprised to see that I am only allowed 6 hens. I have lived here 3 years and seen many roosters around the neighborhood. Hopefully we wont have any troubles. In the sandhill area.

    Love my ee chicks nugget, chickadee, sunshine, meanie, fluffy, and Moe. They are about 6 weeks old here and hopefully all hens. We aren't sure of nugget (the black and white chick) but hope she is indeed a she. They are all very skiddish still, bummer. I've spent lots time with them...

    This is Nugget, one of 6 ee pullets we got about 6 weeks ago. I've always had doubts of her gender because of her large comb. Then around week 3 she started to get waddles. Now her face is reddening. Any thoughts?

    Hello everyone! :) This is nugget, one of 6 ameraucana pullets we got about 5 weeks ago. She always had a bigger comb than the rest so we were thinking from about week 2 she may be a he. Now she's getting red waddles and red on her face. Any thoughts? [/IMG]
