i'll be putting mine outside when i get off work so i can clean the brooder
i think it will be in the 50's and they are about a week old
i think they can tolerate 10-20 minutes while i get everything cleaned up and sanitized
ok, i have 7 chicks and 2 ducks in a 110 gallon water trough with 2 heat lamps and 2 waterers
they are all about a week old, and because of the smell i have moved them from my bedroom to my laundry room and finally yesterday i moved them to the garage.
is there anything that can be done...
well .. it kicked the bucket -- was fine -- then 30 minutes later it was dead and trampled
got 2 replacements:)
TSC lady told me i had to buy 6 at a time -- told her the one i got on saturday died
she gave me a free one and allowed me to buy just one
total chicks now = 7 and 2 ducks

well .. it was a good scene in the movie --- was going to go Boris and Natasha like rocky and bullwinkle
i figured mixed breed for Boris ... was not so sure about Doris
Best i can figure for Boris is a domnique/barred rock crossed with a RIR .... but the comb is off
haven't the slightest...
saved one from certain death last night
was laying down, could not stand up or open its eyes
i think its rear end was pasted shut
so i washed it in warm soapy water
set it in a tupperware container under the heat lamp for 2 hours
after that it seemed ok
this morning it looks just fine ...... was...
anyone able to ID these TSC chicks?
They were in the bin marked Pullets/Large Brown Egg Layers.
My best guess for the dark ones were either Black Stars or Australorps
My best guess for the red ones were either Red Sex Links or Rhode Island Reds
My best guess for the lighter ones were...
TSC in Hazlehurst, MS has chicks too
not real sure what i got -- they were in the brown egg layer pullets bin
best guess is that i got 2 red-sex-link/rir ... 2 black-stars/australorps ... and 2 not real sure maybe buff orpingtons
