help ID TSC chicks?

A fellow BYC member posted that their TSC had ducklings for $0.50 each! If I'd have found a deal like that, I'd have bought what was left in the tub. I've been waiting for chick days to start so I can get myself some ducklings

saved one from certain death last night
was laying down, could not stand up or open its eyes
i think its rear end was pasted shut
so i washed it in warm soapy water
set it in a tupperware container under the heat lamp for 2 hours
after that it seemed ok
this morning it looks just fine ...... was not looking forward to going to go get a new one

i think this is one of the black australorps that i have been wanting forever

It's always fun watching chick change (shape,colors,comds,ect.) as they get older!!! Don't get your hopes up that you ended up with a pure breed tho. TSC usally carries mixed breeds...even tho they label differ bin (pullets or straight run) doesn't mean you will get a certain breed of chicken. I bought my first 8 chicks there ( all out of the pullet bins) I ended up with one black sex-link mixed roo, 2 golden sex-links hens, and the rest were gold sex-link mixed hens. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be happier with my hens, the roo is a big mean a$%hole tho lmao. Mabey every TLC is different, but I think 90% of the chicks they sell are mixed.

well .. it kicked the bucket -- was fine -- then 30 minutes later it was dead and trampled

got 2 replacements

TSC lady told me i had to buy 6 at a time -- told her the one i got on saturday died
she gave me a free one and allowed me to buy just one

total chicks now = 7 and 2 ducks
