How long have you had it? I would contact Brinsea and get it replaced/repaired immediately.
I think I remember you saying you had it 3 seasons so it would be beyond the warranty. Maybe a local tinkerer can have a look. Maybe the thermostat needs to be replaced or it can be repaired?
I...
Mine were due March 31st, but the Brinsea Temp spiked and cooked them. First hatch of the year, turned it on, it went to temp like a champ, put the eggs in a few hours later, came back to check on the eggs after a couple hours and the screen was flashing 50C! It has never happened before, I...
Keep checking the feet of the birds that showed 'frozen' extremities. The tissue damage from the freeze can take some time to show up. If you notice the feet darkening and turning black then the tissue is dying, and depending on the extent of the damage you might need to cull the bird.
It can...
I got the same color pattern with Ameraucanas when I crossed a Black roo to a White hen. The little pullet I kep is really cute, I named her Sprinkles.
The best way to start showing is entering some birds. Get to know some of the other breeders, and they can help you out.
I've found that it's easier to get brids out of breeders if you are showing something. If there is a breed in particular that you really like, I would join the breed...

OMG
I've never seen that many Standards together at once.
I'm used to getting beat by a couple of birds at a time--this should be a truly humbling experience......
Go Cornish!
The fellow I show with (Bob Jones) is looking forward to harassing you at Shawnee. I don't know if you...

My sis and I used to share a building rabbits down one side and chickens down the other. If I remember correctly there was some concern about the poultry giving the rabbits coccidiosis, but the rabbits were in suspended cages, and did not come into contact with poultry fecal matter (other than...

Yep, I will be in the Modern Game Bantam rows most of the time for this show (It's the MGB National show). Probably wearing a bright green sweater (everybody seems to be able to find me when I wear it!).
Wish I had room for Langshans, and I would love to see your birds if you're up...

Yeah, the holes tear out and it just looks like the web is missing. If it's on his right then that's out of the birds I bought from Rohrs in 2009. The Herring is Ken Herring, probably more noted for is White cornish, but I got my first Darks from him. He has passed on since I got my...

He has the best i have ever seen. The ones i have are suppose to be orginally from his stock but i dont know how far removed from his orginal birds they are. I would love to ad a few more from him to mix with the ones i have now.

My brother was telling me about 'safe' mouse traps. We have a honey bee hive in one wall of the barn. Until I can get them moved the mice have plenty to eat and are constantly in the chicken pens. I don't like to use poison, I am afraid it will die in a pen and the chickens will eat it.
The...
I went to crumbles, I had to switch from hanging feeders to raised trough feeders but they aren't wasting it and the bantams like it a lot better than the pellets.

My last show of the year too but then 2011 is just 3 weeks away. We have 2 shows in January
I'm just trying to fool myself into thinking that I am going to get a break and be able to relax. The Ohio National went by so fast, I didn't really get to walk the MGB row to look at birds...
