I live in Williston ND. I was wondering what the laws are for having chickens in the city?
If I am able to have chickens in the city then I need to know how to make a coop warm enough for the winter and all the particulars about best breeds and information about raising them in a cold state :)...
I have been living in ND for almost two years now and love it. I have some questions about raising chickens in this state which I will post in a different thread!
I have day old chicks for sale. They are mixed breeds. Ameraucana, barred rock, black austrolorp and buff orpington. They are straight run. I am asking $3 a piece.

I have a hen that is setting on 10 eggs. The eggs are 8 days from hatching. I was wondering if I should wait till they hatch to move the hen and chicks to a warmer place? Since it probably will be cold I was just wondering.

I was wondering if it would be more economical to sell my pullets before winter, or feed them all winter and then sell them? They are laying. The reason why I want to sell them is because we like the banties better!

I was wondering if the tempature goes down in the incubator to 97 degrees, if the eggs won't hatch? Today is day 24 and still the rest of the eggs aren't hatching. Also I was wondering if there is a reason why the rest of the eggs didn't hatch. I got 12 chicks out of 31 eggs. The tempature was...
12 of mine hatched. There are still 19 more eggs that haven't hatched. Today is day 22. I candled a few of them today and some seemed to look like that they will hatch in a few days. And some I couldn't see into them at all. So I was wondering how long to wait past 21 days to allow to hatch...

I was wondering if we should clean out the coop before the disease is gone and put in new bedding or should we wait till the disease is gone to clean it out?
