This sounds like pasty butt or gleet. I think it's similar to thrush. Like a yeast infection. I would definitely add probiotics. I'm not sure about the best treatment method. I'm not experienced enough. Sorry.

I'm pretty sure my bird had pasty vent/gleet. I added more ACV to water and gave all the birds yogurt. After a day or so it seemed to go away. I haven't had this problem since.

I'm thinking vent gleet is the problem, after researching. My birds do not smell so maybe I've catches it at the beginning.

I just came across an egg described like above. Any ideas?

An update: The bird is looking more and more like a rooster. Still no crowing yet.

Still think it's a rooster? Also I'm wondering if he/she is purebred barred rock. There is a lot of white colouring there.
