we ended up with 1 cockerel but we love him...his name is Billy, and he is the most pet like of all our chickens. He is only 16 weeks and is just beginning to start crowing...more like yelping. But he is working on it. Good luck
our 3 month old pullets and cockerel have been hanging out inside the coop all day. When I go out to the coop they come running out inside the run. I don't know why they stay in there all the time.
Welcome! what sort of wild chickens do you have? and I hope you can enjoy them this time. We love just hanging out with our chicks and watching them scratch around.
we had our chicks before our coop was built! That is probably a smarter way to go by getting your coop built first. We have 2 BO's out of six chicks and they are my favorite. Very friendly and social...Good luck
that's wonderful that you are starting from the egg! I was to nervous to that first so we just started with newly hatched chicks. They are 7 weeks now and we are having so much fun with them.
Have fun
that sounds great! I converted part of our garden shed into a coop and built a run...we are having so much fun with our new chicks. They are 7weeks old and have learned so much from BYC. Welcome!
Welcome Kay,
I'm a Virginian too! I love your chicks names...thought I would crack up. Both my husband and I got a good laugh. How much land do you have with your micro farm?
