Currently I live in a small townhome in a fox ridden neighborhood. So no chickens. I've wanted to keep chickens for a really long time and now it's about to be a reality! We are moving to rural southern GA and have 5 acres with a horse barn already built. So excited, doing tons of research and have decided on two breeds. The Barred Plymouth Rock and Rhode Island Red. In the hopes of producing some black sex link at a later date.
My biggest issue so far is deciding on a coop! What i want is super expensive and my carpentry skills aren't up to scratch. I really wanted to start with 10-15 pullets but I may have to lower my expectations for now. I haven't seen the property in GA in person so there's a chance I can modify an out building but as we are just renting we can't make any permanent changes.
