Trying to help baby mourning dove, help!!

Also, I fed him by stretching a baggie held in place by a rubber band over a syringe with no end. Poked a hole in bag and he stuck his whole beak in there. The more water, the better,I think, maybe 60% water. This way, it was easy to use new plastic wrap each time, threw old away. Stayed clean...

I did the same with a baby pigeon, but I fed jarred human baby food of chicken mixed with water. Anyway, he started eating the seeds on his own. I just wiped his front and face with a warm damp washcloth and put him back in his warm box with dry towel as bed and didnt worry too much how clean he...

    Moving pigeons with babies

I had to put a new roof on my loft and improve predator proofing which turned into a much bigger, better project with lots of nest boxes, etc...but in the meantime, during construction, my pigeons started hanging out on my enclosed balcony. I leave the door open a bit for them. I gave them some...

will tylan work for chickens with respiratory infections?

You guys saved my chicken! One of my polish frizzels became ill with a rattly respiratory infection. Local vets wouldnt see her because she is a chicken. They suggested a livestock vet about 40 miles away. I bought the tylan 50 because of b.y.chicken suggestions. It was only $18 at feed store...

    What are your rooster's names?

i handfed orphaned pigeon hatchling. successful!

Thanks for the advice! This pigeon's mom was squished in a windstorm, he wasn't abandoned. So now Valero is full grown and living with three fantail pigeons. He is the leader of the troup , at the feedbowl, anyway. Sometimes I let the kids play with him and he flies around their playroom...

    DIY Composting

I mean that we have high humidity but it doesn't actually rain. Imagine living in a sauna. Hot. With lots of wind. All that - fireants, thorns, snakes, scorpions, etc... Wait a minute, why do I live here again?! LOL!

    ZONE 9 and FLORIDA GARDENING

I have some questions because I have never composted before. I read one post where they used a large outdoor plastic garbage can with the bottom cut out and put directly onto ground. No turning, etc. My questions are: I live in south Texas and so it is very hot and dry (but humid go figure) and...
