    Question about hardware cloth

I have 19ga 1/2 in on my run and have not had a break in ever, including mice. I wouldn't say one is easier to work with than the other. There is one overlooked issue with hardware cloth that is seldom brought up.If you enjoy watching your chickens during the day, compare the visual aspect of...

My 2 month old girls are pooping in their nesting boxes - Yuck!

Close off the next boxes until laying age. I used a panel of hardware cloth to keep them out of the nest boxes. Make sure your roosts are higher than the nest boxes and they should stay out of the nests once they get the hang of sleeping on roost.

How to build hen flock without overcrowding hen house

Just curious, are you not able to get chicks that are sexed? Maybe I'm not getting you intentions. If you want 20 hens you can easily get all hens, and any roosters you want.

    Mysterious Feather Loss....

Chickens can't be watched 24/7 so I suspect some pecking going on or maybe rooster attention. Without any visible parasites that's what I would think. Add something to the run such as a flock block to keep them from pecking each other.
