Well, tried to find tylan injectable to better control the dosing but only found 200. Imagine I could just use 25%, but I didn't purchase. One more vet supply place I'll check tomorrow when they're open, and otherwise use the soluble.
Ty again for the input from all.
OK, so feed it to the flock then...? Also, is dosing proper to that strength on mine?
TSC simply said "there's nothing like that in the fridge." is that where the tylan 50 would be?
Ty for your help
Thank you @kimspangrude for the video... I have a hen with what seems to be the same situation, but all around the eye is very swollen. I was curious when you lanced why you chose inside the eyelid (it seemed).? Mine seems it would be possible outside, so I wanted to get some input.
Ty for that video... Would seem I may need to grab the lancing materials and give it a go.... The Tylan was already on my list as of yesterday seeing no real improvement. Hen is healthy and without any symptoms of illness.... Broody, so was probably lacking nutrients to fight anything quite as...
Wow... No, I haven't. I'll try, but dang, looks like that chicken's already missing her eye ball... There was some crusty, so I'll try. Would yiuh say that's a better idea than lancing it?
My buff orp has a badly infected eye. Haven't yet worked up the courage to Lance it, but have been treating it with an ophthalmic terramycin 2/day.
Have read a lot of threads about similar stuff, but not as many with good outcomes documented from specific treatments.
If this gel does not it...
Couldn't help but upload this. This is Jewels, and was named because all of her marking on her face made us think of her like a princess.
Jewels is from a hatchery, so I am not sure if she is ameraucana or EE, either way, she is a very vocal little girl!
I have also hesitated to give antibiotics. I am just looking for input. I also need to look into how to cull, as this would be my first. In my head I see a cutting board and a butcher knife, but that seems a bit off! I don't want to take her fighting chance but also don't want her to suffer.
Ok, last line, no treatment . . . Not what I was hoping to see, but the CRD of Mycoplasm types seem to not quite fit due to the clear eyes and noses if I am understanding them correctly . . ?
Mold or fungus on the first line . . . She just a couple days ago went to an organic starter that has corn in it, known to more easily have mold. . . OK, moving on to the second line,
Thank you for the link. I will read through. Just got done making her drink some water, little squirts into her mouth between gasps. She ate a few bites of mash. As I stated, she has never seemed "athletic," if I may, the other ones from the same hatchery (different breeds) are jumping and...
the more i read about Mareks, the less it fits. she still tyries to jump onto the edge of her box and perch... she has some energy when she summons it but gladly lets her head hang low when i hold her.
any help?
I have a 4wk old Welsummer that this morning was gasping for air badly and weezing, like somebody with asthma would. also, she seems to sneeze some as well.
She seems very weak and does not want to stand up, eat or drink. We have been syringe feeding her water with electrolytes, but even that...
