I'm interested in this as well. I have ducks and goats and am adding chickens. Want a roo for reproduction but have the same noise concerns. Has anyone tried a "crow collar?" I was planning on trying it, but wanted some input from someone who's actually used one. Thanks!
I had ducks when we adopted Max 3 years ago. He was about a year old and we don't know any of his history except that he is a rat terrier mix. For the first few months, he wanted to chase/kill them. They were fenced and he couldn't reach them but would stand at the fence "on point" trembling...
So I copied and pasted. Hope that's ok!

if your going to have eggs shipped, try to order them from a neighboring state. my personal experience as an egg shipper tells me that...
I know... I'm sure she didn't put live hatching eggs on the box for that very reason. And she used a printed FRAGILE" label from the post office! It wasn't her fault.
No one around here has Welsh Harlequins. I've raised several breeds and WH is the one I want for my small homestead This seller was the closest individual I've found. I can still order eggs for my broody hen, even though my daughter won't get to enjoy them.
That's what the seller is doing now. I'm devastated Wanted the babies to be hatching when my daughter comes for a visit. She hasn't been able to come home in 4 years and it may be that long before she can come again...
I ordered some hatching eggs from a reputable seller (I've ordered from her before). It took Priority Mail 6 days to get the box to my house. 3 of the eggs were cracked and 4 were a sloshy mess. The yolk of one of the four was about 1/3 semi-solid! There are still 9 whole eggs. Aside from the...
Just to clarify, he doesn't have to guard a flock on open range and he isn't in the pen with the livestock at all times. The "moat" pen system works great for us. Deer won't jump the pair of 4' fences with barking "piranha" inside and he takes care of any smaller predators very well. We live in...
We have a tall rat terrier (we think, he was a throw-away) that we trained (with a training collar on light setting) to ignore the ducks we had when he arrived. He goes in the duck pen often and has killed rats, snakes, and possums (even tangled with a coon once) but never even looks at the...
The hens are prolific layers of white standard large size eggs, which make these delicious eggs easy to incorporate into any recipe. They are also excellent brooders and mothers when the need arises. The ducklings are very robust and you can sex them during the first 3 days with fairly good...
Hi there! Live just up the road in Rome. Hoping to start my little flock of bantams next spring. Here to learn as much as I can in the meantime. Hope you're doing well!
