At the feed store they tried to tell me you can sex Aracana chickens by the length of the wings... saying that if the tips of the wings are longer than the rest they are pullets.... Is this true?
I sprinkled the Diatomaceous Earth all over my carpet. Has been there several hours. Was planning to leave it there for a week but just walking on it stirs it up so much and my dogs are breathing it. I may vacuum it up tomorrow.

I just noticed them today on me. I think I put mine in the coop on some new straw. Crawling all over eggs I collected. I read, wearing a mask, put 7 dust all over chickens, heavy. Focus a lot under wings and vent area. All over coop. In nesting boxes. Clean out coop good. Do every 7 days...

2Tbsp vanilla to gallon of water in a sprayer. Spray chickens, run and inside coop lightly. If heavy infestation do every 4 hours for a few days to a week. They hate it and will eventually move on.
We give our girls cold watermelon on hot days to hydrate and avoid heat stroke. They love it and it seems to perk them up. A fan may help too. It also helps keep gnats away.
