    Is she lonely? Broody?

Quote: She might not know she's a goose.. did you hatch her, or was she hatched and imprinted by another human?

    Shaky legs?

My gosling is starting to feather nicely, but I've noticed he seems a little weak and tiresome with his legs and they tremble when he's standing. Mom and my brother think it's because he doesn't get enough exercise, but we go on daily walks and he plays outside plenty. Is it something else? And...

goslings nibbles are turning to bites.

Quote: I'm not sure they learn people's faces at all. I could always freak them out when I appeared in a hat. after they heard my voice they would calm down. AS for adult geese they can nibble very gently when they want to.... My gosling seems to know my face and body from anyone else's who...

    Sick?

I'm still concerned, though.. he occasionally 'buzzes' when he's panting, I'm not sure if that labored or him just making noise. I lost my babies last year for silly reasons, I just don't want him to fall ill and be able to do nothing about it.

Will two different colors split into their own groups?

My ducks tend to buddy with someone of similar color. The coloreds and whites tend to stand apart, but in the end, they all interbreed. I know of two little hens who are best friends and one's a domestic mallard, the other a pekin.

    Sick?

Being paranoid as I am, what early signs should I look for for gapeworms? And if it's a possibility, what should I do? Is it possible to acquire them from eating grass and sand? I only ask because he's breathing a little heavily and it's a comfortable temp. in my room. My gosling is only a few...

    Keeping gosling friendly?

Quote: I never grab my baby from behind. I always scoop him gently from the front and cradle him in my hands, so there's no surprise. But then again, I am "mama".. that does help a lot. :x Good luck keeping your geese sociable, OP. <3

    Keeping gosling friendly?

Imprinting at hatch helps, but that's kind of a one-time thing. :x My Alex still craves my company and cuddles..

    WHY do you have geese?

Quote: I thought they stopped laying in May? I know my mamagoose isn't acting broody anymore, but I may be mistaken. Are you sure they're not ganders? It'd be a shame to see them cooked.. geese are intelligent animals and live a long time. They have other uses- I'd keep them to alert to...

    WHY do you have geese?

Quote: I don't think they lay all year round.. xP Should have gotten chickens? I have chickens too...lol They haven't laid at ALL yet. I was told from the person I got them from (And one other person that has some of the same) they they laid from May-Sept and then were done for that summer...

    WHY do you have geese?

They make good yard watch- or house watch, if they're indoors. People tend to be more frightened of geese because you can't deter them with steak. ;P

    The Goslings -Image Heavy-

Is the waterer deep enough for their nostrils? I have a lone gosling and I use a heavy glass for his water because the group waterer was too shallow. I don't know what you could use instead that they couldn't climb in, though, if it's not deep enough.

    Neck rubbing?

Quote: It was too hard to get a picture of just his neck because he was so busy inspecting the camera! XD I think the feathers may've been a little damp from drinking earlier, too. I blog about him here: http://alexgoz.blogspot.com/ Lots of photos and a few videos, too. ^^

    Neck rubbing?

My young gosling, Alex(1 week old), has been rubbing his neck against itself and with his bill, as though it itches and the feathers there seem to be thinning a little from all of the rubbing. Should this be cause of concern? I put my finger to his neck and he rubbed and rubbed and rubbed..

    Feeding Schedule

Quote: I've been feeding my little gosling in this manner, so he doesn't over eat or spoil too much food with his messy habits. I don't think we ever fed our ducklings free-choice, either, because of how messy they are. Food that gets damp and left out can develop dangerous molds. I'm not...
