is it possible to convert grown chickens to the nipple system?

When our system was first installed I played with the drippers until one figured it out, the rest then went to town on it.. Took all of 10 min I think.. Have 4 nipples on the bar yet they all still try to drink from the same one **facepalm**

    Living feeder for chicken pen/yard..

Hi there folks.. Thought I would share the greens feeder we made up for the girls a while back.. Is a very basic wire panel arrangement that allows wheat greens to grow up through the wire so the girls have access to greens in their yard.. The feeder has been in there for 18 months & so far...

    Show Me Your Feeders!!

Forgot to add the other feeder we added in a while back as well.. This is a living feeder & a very basic design that allows chooks with no access to foraging the chance to have greens growing in their pen/yard.. Hope that gives folks some ideas.. Cheers..

Here in Australia it's a storm water/water tank fitting so might bi in different places in different stores.. You don't really need a flanged fitting from what I've seen.. If you manage to cut the hole neat enough a normal elbow will fit in there nice & tight..

feeder frustration. We need better feeders.

When I was researching molasses based root knot nematode treatments a few sites came up saying that fire ants will move out of an area sprayed with a liquid molasses mix.. Don't know if this is hand to anyone but thought it might be worth a try.. Cheers, Rob..

feeder frustration. We need better feeders.

Thanks for the welcome Ben's Hens :) I ended up making a basic nipple feeder.. The drum was just a stopgap measure until I could sort out a more permanent water storage tank.. I made it so the "nipple bar" could be taken off & used in the new build when I get around to it.. Had problems with...

Hi there... New to the forum & thought you might like a look at the feeder we made up... Got the idea from a fellow Aussie.. There is a part 2 clip that covers the 1 issue we were having with it & it now works like a dream.. Smaller ones can be made to hang from the roof of the pen as well...
