I just lost one of my CL s last night too. I've had them 1 week . Mine seemed fine and them she just slowed down and finally died. I'm hoping its not from cocci , my other 3 chicks seem fine . Should I treat for cocci or Waite it out???
My BA is 8 mo old and started acting very strange today lethargic and a pale comb. I normally don't let my chickens out to free range . To day I did and when I do they go crazy . She scratched and pecked a little but not much she is acting very different form the others. Please help!
All my hens are between 6 & 8 months. I think it's just so weird I've never had an egg this small before , not to mention I found it outside in 7* weather.

Quick question I'm getting my first batch of quail . I've read that noises can bother them , I live in the city with a lot of noises . Not to mention my dog who barks a lot. I want to keep them outside and have the perftic coop and run for them, but if its too much I can keep them in my shed .
What do u all do about flys! It is so bad there finding there way into the house. I've tried the soda bottle with vinager sugar and water no luck! Help please!!!!

I have 6 week old chicks who love being out side . The problem is today is going to be 100*! They get so mad at me when I bring them in . Not to mention there running out of space in there small chicken coop and need to be moved to the big one! Help !
I would think the heat would be too much for 4 week old chicks, usually when they outgrow a brooder they go to a larger brooder - unless you have a well shaded area for them. Maybe you could let them outside early in the morning before it gets that hot. [/quote. When do u think they be ok to...
I'm new here and I new chicken owner. Does anyone know when is it too hott out side for my 4 week old chicks. We average in the mid 90s right now. I have them in the house in there booder box , they r just getting to big for it and need to be moved to the coop.
