Thanks for the thoughts. We have had Coyotes running along the fence line lately.
I did move it to a new location, except where they have raccoon highway it is pretty dense.
Appreciate the time and information.

We are in the middle of the raccoon insurgency of 2013. I have Live traps out and have been pretty successful. We installed a Dukes trap near our pen and last night caught our first one in it. Dogs went crazy around 2 AM and sure enough a large raccoon was caught in it. Due to an evening...
Good Morning from Bastrop,
Quick question since you all sure know your chicken information. My daughter started raising chickens, was doing great (18 eggs a day) and wham, we were wiped out in by a evil den of raccoons. Oh well, thats a different story. Lets just say we learned a lot, and...
hehehe, LMAO.
My wife has no problem holding the light for me or digging graves. we lived here for 4 years before heading overseas for 6 raising critters, no raccoons. Came back right before the Bastrop Fire and restarted raising chickens. Fine for a year and BAM.... Raccoon invasion. Not...
Scooter, I understand. I did the same style pond for my ducks and have two organic filter tanks flowing into it. every so often I find dead Koi (Aka cheap feeder goldfish that grow large) and wonder what or how they were caught.
No pictures. Son woke up early, mad that I did not include him...
Scooter, Worked like a charm. Have one sitting in the trap now and was able to pick off two buddies who came to break her out. The hole in the ground is a great innovation. Did not have marshmallows so crammed tortilla flour mixed with sardine juice in a can and a bit of sardine in the hole. At...
Cockle-Dood, right now we are rebuilding our flock after the great Raccoon insurgency started. We have primarily Americanas and Red Sex Links with a few Auaricanians thrown in. Raising some chicks as well, but don't know the breeds. it is what happens when an 11 year old goes to Callahans with...
Agree its a raccoon and agree the best removal method is a .22 if you are in a location where you can shoot. raccoons we are up against were relased we think. They are not only trap shy, but we watched the momma fire off the trap and proceed to eat the cat food from the outside.
Chucklecluck. Any luck on finding the laws concerning foxes? I am also here in wonderful Bastrop and dealing with a gray fox. we are pretty sure he is partnered up with the local raccoons and leading the insurgency against our chickens. Appreciate any information you find. And Hope you get some...
