This is a long shot but would anyone here be familiar with someone in the central Ohio area I could pay to help me rebuild my coop? I want to use what I already have... but I'm not handy and my run and coop are falling apart.
I wanted to see if anyone had any idea what could be wrong with my hen.
She's about three years old and a couple of days ago started to act rather confused. She'd go to corners of the yard and stand there or under our kids slide. She doesn't seem to want to eat anything at all or drink. She is...
She's within sight of them. I did read over some of the other threads about this and I saw being too close wasn't good. I think she's in a good spot.
I have 11 birds. Wasn't fully expecting another. We have a lot of space in our backyard but it's a backyard flock. I don't live in the country. I...
Hi there,
I had a neighbor come by recently that needed to give away their sole chicken. I told them I'd be happy to take her and add her to my flock. I set up an area for her not within the coop and she's staying there alone.
Can you give me some suggestions on when and how to introduce her to...
Hello! I'm a suburb chicken owner and lately one of my newest is acting like she's gone insane! She JUST started laying in the past couple weeks. She walks around a lot alone, paces around my fenced off garden area and eventually flies into it. If I take her out she just paces back and forth and...
I fully agree with overthrowing the permit rule!
I actually did yesterday, what you just mentioned. The only difference was that my van is silver! However, I was able to spot something that looked like a coop and voila! They were missing a chicken! They were so happy!!!!
I'll have to try that I was just concerned if they don't have a permit and I spoke with neighbors Id get someone in trouble. I don't have a permit either but my neighbors are all awesome and love fresh eggs:)
Last night a neighbor called me because they had a chicken show up in their yard. I do have backyard chickens so they thought it might be mine but it's not! I brought it back and put her in a dog cage with food and water and now I'm not sure what to do! We live within city limits and most people...
Fifteen week old production red. Its never don't anything to make me think Roo but over the past couple days have notice those long feathers. Thoughts?
I just saw these responses! Those pictures look exactly like what she is doing. The joint on that side is swollen but not excessively. I took her away from her pals but I'm thinking she may need to go back soon. We've been trying to keep her off the leg quite a bit but so far no difference...
I can't see anything swollen. She puts weight on the leg but not a lot. Will a chick stay in a sling like that? I'm not sure I'm handy enough to make one but I can try. I have an adult that hurt her leg a while back after something got into their coop but she started walking normally after about...
Thanks for the response. I did isolate her just now. I'll look into the sling. Nothing seems swollen but today she was sitting a lot more. I'm pretty sure it hurts I just have no clue how she did it.
This six week old gal has the strangest thing going on. She walks but with it all bowed out. She is definitely limping. I can't see anything visibly wrong with the leg and she definitely wasn't born with it. She walks around my yard with her "siblings" but always supervised. What does this look...
