I have adjusted it. It'll go from 109-111 degrees. I'm not planning on drilling any holes in it. This incubator belonged to my grandfather. He told me it cooked the last group of eggs he tried to hatch. Where can I find parts for it? I have no idea how old it is?
I just acquired a marsh roll x incubator. I had to replace the fan. Now the temperature is staying at 109. What do I need to do to get down? I am just trying it out it hasn't been used in 20 yrs. Thanks for the help.
My bobwhite have sporadic lately, 4 eggs 1 day, 1 egg the next and so on. Today no eggs. I put a light in the enclosure to increase to around 16 hrs of light a day. They are being fed 25% protien feed. I have them at a ratio of 1 rooster to 3-4 hens. What else could I do to increase production.
I use the cardboard containers that canned drinks come in. Once they throw all the sand and dirt out you can just toss them and put a new one in with them. Most curb stores will give them to you.
Thanks, I have been told they just lay them wherever they want. I am putting dusting boxes in with them tomorrow. I hope I can at least get to lay in them.
I took all the eggs out and opened them. Three of the eggs looked like uncooked scrambled eggs inside the others had embryos that had not fully formed. I think the problem is with handling before I got them and temperature in the incubator with the turner.
I just looked and the oozing egg is the one that I could only see the air sac in. I am going to remove them. Do you think the temperature in my incubator with the turner could be the problem?
I put the new thermometer and hydrometer in each incubator. The one with turner is reading 102 degrees and 57% humidity. Even though the one that came with it reads 100 degrees. This one has the quail eggs in it. The one I am using as a hatcher reads 100 degrees and 50% humidity. There is also...
I did candle them. 1 of them I can only see the air sac, the others I could see embryos in but the weren't as large as that one. 1 of the eggs I can see fluid moving around the embryo. All of them have good air sacs.
I just have it sitting on an old dresser. I will pick it up to allow more air flow. I don't know if any are going hatch. I am going home early today to check on them and add new thermometer and hydrometer to each incubator. I have never had any luck hatching. I tried some quail eggs once before...
Today is day 21 or 22 of incubation for my chicken eggs. I see no movement, there are no pips. As for as I can tell nothing is going on. I moved the eggs from my hova- bator with the turner and fan Friday to the little giant that's a still air for hatching. Temp has stayed constant at 99.5-100...
I posted this in the newbie section and decided to move it here.
I am new to incubating. I have been around chickens most of my life, but recently decided to try and hatch a few. I have a hova-bator with a turner and a little giant with a turner. Today is either day 20 or 21 on my first 5 eggs...
