  5. 13 Lavender Orpingtons 6 days old now. I got them 1 day old and after a couple days on starter feed they are now eating fermented feed with a little dry crumbles sprinkled on top....they seem to be thriving and growing so fast.

    Update I returned these poor birds, come to find out 4 of them were cockerels and the guy I got them from insisted he give me a refund. So I am looking for a new flock of healthier birds

Woohoo...they were all waiting at the run door to be let out....so far i leave the coop door open so they can go into run when they want. They were alot more energetic doing chicken galloping, kinda flying...my 2 Orps...

I have talked to 2 different breeders that have young Light Brahmas close by and will go look at them next weekend....I will thoroughly inspect the birds and ask lots of questions this time!     13 Lavender Orpington day old chicks I got from a small-time breeder hatched 9/10/13. 2 Buff Brahmas 5weeks old, 2 brahmas 2weeks old & 4 2week old Buff Orpingtons from a different breeder just starting out....these are hatchery stock and not well cared for so working on getting them in better...
