Went out to feed the ladies this morning and there was a freshly laid egg! Still warm! She was on an every other day cycle but she laid one Sunday and today! Excited for the other two to start laying!
I have fostered dogs for many years. I currently have a 7mo old pit mix with a fractured T11 vertebrae and bad hip dysplasia that I am fostering.
Fostering is very rewarding for both you and the dog. You really get to see their personalities, which is helpful when looking for the right forever...
Egg number 2 today! It's slightly bigger and more egg shaped and this one was in the nest box! Yay smart chicken who is finally laying. Hoping the other two start soon!
I got my first egg today! I found it when i got home from work. Unfortunately it was on the floor of the run so I put a grocery store egg in the nesting box this evening to give them a clue. I'm so excited!

They get almost all of the kitchen scraps daily but we had some leftover ribs so they got a special treat today. It was hilarious to watch them run around tossing the bones to get the scraps of meat off!
Hi everyone! I am new to BYC and chicken raising. I have read this thread with great interest and am going to start a batch of fermented feed for my 3 New Hampshire hens. They are 21 weeks old and have yet to give up any eggs but I know they are coming soon!
Thank you for all the great info...
