Does anyone know any good winter-time delivery hatcheries?
I am interested in rebuilding my flock possibly with new breeds or species but Americaunas and Orpingtons/Australorps worked so well for me. Open to suggestions!
Hi!
I've been traveling for school and family and had to sell off my flock, I do still have the coops, though. I was gifted (to put it kindly) my first chickens and moved on to ducks having realized my hobby could be slightly more profitable. So I was getting my chicks with my ducklings in the...
They were sex-link amber pullets for a dollar each so I took all 29 and they threw in some bantams freebies. They just wanted to take the whole setup down. I did the same for Pekin Ducks way early on because it was so cold no one was buying them. I got those for $2 each because they were "too...
The deals from trac supply when they're just getting rid of them make's for some pretty easy budget balancing... Worst comes to worst I'll just have a stuffed freezer :)
How much do birds cost outside of initial price plus food? rather, how much are they worth at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months?
From what I've seen people will pay $4 for a day old chick.
now they only eat maybe a dollar's worth of food in the first month (conservatively).
does this make $5 a...

Naw, I bought a 50 lb bag of starter and they (and some chicks for a bit) were feeding off and just finished the 2nd one at 12 weeks in. I was wondering if anyone knew a good number for each individual duckling...
How much do white Pekin ducks eat in the first 3 months (12 weeks)?
tryin to do some figurin' and I settled on 10 ducks eat 20lb. in 3 months? that sound about right?
I wonder if it is possible to put them in the same housing at least for a short while untill I get proper shelter or would problems occur?
Orpingtons are pretty nice birds and so are my Pekin ducks. Looking to integrate large-ish meat rabbits (Flemish or Chinchilla) for possibly a one...
I was at Hannaford's (chain grocery store) and I saw a poster looking for farmer's to accept "food waste". Old produce and bread too I think is what this means. I was wondering if anyone else had this type of agreement now or in the past or at least knew if it was a good idea. Anyone in the...
