I've been dreaming of the day I could have my own acreage since I was a teenager riding and competing in the hunter/jumper ring.
In 1998 I started to help some local rescues with fostering their dogs and helping place them. In 2000 I got my first Border Collie, a black and white female and...

We did pretty good - $163. The first almost 2 hours was not the greatest as we had a quick thunderstorm that last about 1/2 hour and then had to wait for people to see it was over to start coming out. But once it cleared up, the market was busy and we had lots of people stop by and...

I have my shelves downstairs thankfully to dry everything on. But till the oldest leaves next month for University I have to keep all the supplies in the kitchen. We have an empty corner space (no cupboard yet) that I store all the bigger jugs under as well as my scale. I also have a...
okiegirl, I'd love to try your recipe for my daughter.

Morgaine, I use both natural and Lab Colors.
Last week I was trying to work with the Lab ones and messed them up. That and I think I added to much blue mica and it turned the soap black. I think it was just one of those...
Last week I don't know what was going on - every soap I made the colour didn't turn out. My Georgian Breeze looks more like it should be called Georgian Storm (it's purple, black and copper/goldish looking) just to give you an idea. The last batch I made I left natural so not to "waste" the...
BB - the soap looks good.
Morgaine, how did the OMH soap turn out?
We went to the FM today. It was great - sunny, hot and a really good flow of people. They even put on live music so we got to hear some good musicians while we chatted up customers.
Here is a picture of the table and DS...
chiknwhisperer - your soap looks great!
We got rained out Saturday for the FM, but they are calling for sun and a high of 80F for this weekend.
I have around 14 -15 different soaps - between 5-9 bars of each, ready to go other than being banded, which will take me tomorrow to finish up...
Haven't had time to catch up yet..hopefully later today since it's going to rain I can do that.
My oil order is due in today, wasn't suppose to be in till tomorrow so I had gone and bought some organic coconut oil (only kind I can get in town) to get me through.
But it got me to thinking...
Sorry to hear the weather didn't co-operate chicknwhisper. Hopefully next weekend will be better.
I wound up not doing the FM yesterday. We went over and did a walk through with the manager yesterday, DH agrees with me, I have a few small things to do this week and then we will be ready for...
Trying to get ready for the FM, not sure if I'm going tomorrow or next weekend (I don't feel ready and DH says it's just nerves). But I got a surprise when I cut my "Baby Fresh" soap today to make some samples with, sorry the picture is blurred, it's just not my day for picture taking..lol...
I've just finished catching up.
chicknwhisper, congrats on the FM. Sounds like you had a great start. From going to various markets here, I see most people have their sign put on the front of their tents, one person had their sign painted right onto their tent. That black...
Morgaine, those soaps look great! As for the scents, I agree with BB. If it's one you use alot of I'd see how cost effective (shipping wise) it is to buy in larger quantities. For me I have found it is cheaper, I always try to add light stuff or 1 oz "sample" amounts of new smellies to test...
Welcome to the list Dude!
My lye finally arrived today so I'm soaping again.
I tried that Strawberry Red colouring. When I added it just before trace it turned peachy/orange and seized. So it'll be interesting to see what it turns out like when I unmold it as I still attempted a swirl...

Morgaine, try www.newdirectionsaromatics.com I shop them from their Canadian site and I have the watermelon fo and it smells like watermelon. Also I got a natural red colour from them called Strawberry Red. I haven't used it yet (my lye should be here tomorrow or Friday) but I can't...
ChicknWhisperer: that tent looks good! I agree, take your son - I'm taking my 12 yr old to help out, though the tent and table are set up for me I just have to show up.
We've upped the date of our first FM to June 6. Though I won't be there on June 13 (dh company picnic), I'll just put a sign...
I ran out lye (I have more on the way this week) and have been having withdrawl, doesn't help with the FM coming up. But I found a way to lessen it.....Lotion Bars! I made two small batches this morning. And tonight I will give them out to see how they go over.
They were simple to make...
