I ordered 10 feet of Velcro and made it myself. One of the other roosters was a small breed. I will say the collar seems to fit better on the bigger birds. Be prepared for your bird to drop his head and walk backwards or not at all untill he adjusts
I put it on him the first day I heard him crow. He hasn't crowed since. But I dont think I put it on tight enough and im concerned about him still growing so I havnt adjusted it u ntill I hear him again. I did hear one garbled crow the next day but had 3 collard roos at the time. The other two...
I let my b roody hen hatch some eggs I got from someone else. The eggs cane from 3 different coops. I ended up with 3 roos. This is the one I chose to keep jusy curious if anyone recognizes a breed or do I have a mutt.[/IMG]
i still think its a female, i'll try and get a pic up later if I can. i never actually seen a rooster and hen mate but it cant be much different then my ducks...lol.
I don't have a rooster so over the summer I let a broody hen hatch some mutts from a local egg seller who has roosters.i was 99.9% sure I had all pullets. Today they are just over 3 months and Ive been noticing the same white chicken mounting one of my older brahmas. I've noticed this on...
Well I just killed my 3rd skunk in last two weeks. I drown this one like the last. Pulled it out of water and left it dead in trap while I went to go make coffee. When I came out 20 min later it was breathing again and trying to raise its head. It was under water a good 5min . What a strange...
So I killed a second skunk in last 2 weeks and all was quiet for a few days. I stopped locking them up and setting the traps. Lost 3 ducklings lastnight and feel horrible. I've never had a predator problem here before and have never had to lock my flocks up. Im wondering if its the loss of...
Well another skunk came lastnight and got my splayed leg duckling. I got out there as in ran down the fence line to my neighbors. I guess I need to set traps every night regardless to them coming or not. Hope to have new dead skunk photos tomorrow.
I thought it might be that too. But when I picked her up to try that bath thing she started throwing up and died in my hands. So I assume it was sour crop after all. No other birds with symptoms.
I have a 10 week old chicken that seems to be puffed up like a basketball. I picker her up to see if it was sour crop but her crop seems to be empty. Her tummy feels hard though and her vent is filthy. She seems lethargic but still eats and drink. She has been staying to herself as well any ideas?
