The breeds have died are a Barnevelder, Cream legbar and a black australorp. The ones that are not doing well are several different breeds as well. Yes it does seem to be heat I would think, Giving them electrolytes and have a fan on them as well in the shade. Anything else to help them?

My salmon favorelle , Isabella, is losing only her neck feathers. It started about 2 weeks ago and I thought maybe she was molting. She is about 1 ½ years old and hasn't molted yet. She isn't acting like my other chickens when they molt, her comb is still bright red, I think she may be still...

6 month old broody, flock newbie, have questions

I am very familiar with broody hens and agree with the dog crate method. I place mine on my patio where I can watch her and protect her from grabby hands of other vermin. Put her food and water and no bedding. Mine I leave in for 48 hours and then presto, no more broodiness. I have a blue laced...

Homeowner's Association Battle in Baton Rouge

We have had our 3 hens for a little over a year now. I checked my association rules before we got them and I did miss the part about no poultry. In EBRP you can have 3 hens legally. I am now in the process of amending the bylaws or asking for variance. I have talked to all my surrounding...

Should I put here in with the others at night or is it safe to keep her contained in cage at night. I'm worried about possums and raccoons. We have had a few...
