    Sick chick

We brought home a dozen chicks on the weekend all seemed ok. A day or so later I have a chick that is panting, not standing very often and does not appear to be eating it drinking. I thought for sure that when I got home yesterday it would be dead, but it's still alive! Very so often it...

Rotten Egg Stuck in Prolapse. Help?

We poured some warm water over it and I have tried pulling it, but it won't budge. The thing is very ugly, black and very rotten It looks like it has been there for a while. She's running around the yard with the others, but I think her days are numbered. Thanks for the response

Rotten Egg Stuck in Prolapse. Help?

I have just found what appears to be a very rotten egg hanging out of the backside of one of my hens. I tried to pull it out but had no luck. She appears to be fine, eating, walking around etc. Sadly, I think I'll be culling her. Any suggestions?

    Adopting hens and rooster

Thanks for the replies My main concern is for them to get use to their new home. I have a 100 sq ft coop with a 100 sq ft run. We live on a large country property so these will be free range. I think I'll keep them in the coop/run for a few days, as suggested. Thanks again.

    Adopting hens and rooster

These 5 are coming from a terrific farm and have been living with about 45 more chickens. They have been raised on quality organic feed, lots of kitchen scraps in a beautiful barn with lots of field space to roam. Thanks for the reply
