A good beginner breed, requires very little care, clean water, bedding and feed. Adults will forage all day long if allowed out noticeably reducing feed cost. The hens lay well without artificial light.
The standard size roosters are loud, the hens like to talk. The breed is not flighty and...
Flighty Chanteclers? Never seen one in my flock... Probably too much Leghorn influence in whatever line of bantam you had bantamfan4life.
The Standard Chanteclers are cold hardy and are very good foragers, they'd rather forage than eat from the feeder. They lay very well in the winter...
I have a small number of young birds. Selling in pairs only. All Quebec origins.
$50 per pair. Located in Milton, ON.
Photos are from recent show winners.
Depends, it varies. I have a known and tested hygrometer and it would be off 10% high or low. The temperature was way off too.
Just an offshore cheap imitation. OK for cheap eggs.
I respectfully disagree. In my case with a very dry house, the pump going non-stop will soak the pad and some eggs and not reach 65% for lockdown. In my case, I must fill both reservoirs AND have the pump going to maintain anything over 45%. I only use my pump to maintain the desired level of...
Well I just fried all my eggs in this POS. This is the worst incubator ever. I do not recommend.
I can't believe we get taken like that by unscrupulous off shore manufacturers and importers. I see these at $150 now on ebay. What a sham...
I have this Janoel and a Brinsea Octagon 40 and an OvaEasy 380. The Janoel is NOT a true forced air incubator. The thing is full of cool spots and is so difficult to calibrate. It does have nice features like a limit on the high temp, humidity alarms and such. The hygrometer is inaccurate by...
I had a few of them this year in free range. They did OK but no matter how much green they ate, their yolk remained a pale yellow. The egg flavour just wasn't there.
More tasteless eggs yes but I still prefer the eggs I get from my heritage flock.
