    help hen beat up baby!!!!!!

I also think that will heal fine- definitely keep her separate until it is well healed, but I would bandage it loosely with gause or something if you are keeping her out in the coop. Flys lay eggs so quickly and you don't want it to get maggots.

    need help fast please!!!!

I don't have an answer for the first two, but on the last one the first thing I would do is make sure that she is able to poop- sometimes babies need "help" keeping that area clean and it gets glued over with poop. A warm bath and some gentle wiping may help. I don't have a lot of experience...

Yikes! My galvanized waterer is rusting!

I was going to buy that one at the store and the guy told me it would rust and to go with plastic. I thought the metal would hold up better. Glad I listened to him.

One rooster? Silkies and another breed

So I think we have 1 rooster and 3 pullets. The "rooster" has a big comb, wattles that hang and a big puff that sticks straight up on his head. The "girls" look pretty much identical- very low/no comb, hair on head is flatter. So on the brown/black/white ones I'm hoping for girls. What kind of...

Silkie Chick with Open Head Wound-not healing after 4 weeks (WARNING: Graphic photos)

You did fine because you did what you thought was best, with her best interest in mind. I have an injured rooster. Yesterday I came in and told my husband I was not a good chicken nurse- he had gotten his t-shirt off and maggots were in his wound. I cleaned it up as best as I could and said a...
