1 of my baby chicks roughly 3 months old got into the big chickens area when i wasnt home. they torn open her neck and it was bloody. sterile washed and triple anti bacterial polysporin (neosporin) added to the wound. it appears to not have running blood but do have styptic powder on hand just in case. she is separated and eating and drinking for now. should i do electrolytes or anything else and what about at night where do i put her now. since the other babies are picking on her too?

please help me D:

You are doing really good with her. The only thing I'd say is to gently wrap it to keep bacteria out. Separating her until it is healed is also a wise choice. It is no surprise the others were picking on her. Unfortunately, a bandage won't discourage picking.

All I do when mine have injuries like that is put some 3 way antobotic ointment on it to keep it moist for several days and separate her. I wouldn't try to bandage it, it'll heal up fine like it is. 3 or 4 days it'll be healed up and refeathered in another week.

I also think that will heal fine- definitely keep her separate until it is well healed, but I would bandage it loosely with gause or something if you are keeping her out in the coop. Flys lay eggs so quickly and you don't want it to get maggots.

she managed to pull the gause off and get it wraped around her tounge i think i will leave it open and lots of ointment not to mention every day i saline wash it out :)
