This is the answer I got off another girls post. I believe we have the same chick. "  I still think it's a Golden Campine that is heterozygous for pattern gene, so it will be blurry laced instead of autosomally barred.   I am glad to hear you have 3 of these chicks because the one shown above...

The "brown chick" isn't brown though it's black With a slightly lighter chest and stomach, and the face is a reddish brown tint. I know the picture is a bit off, bad indoor lighting I guess.

    Feeding chickens their own shells

I use them, I actually blend the egg shells up, I don't bake in the oven though I just boil them. Once it's a fine powder I add it to there food. It is not really helpful for grit but is a good calcium source. I have a friend that makes her own calcium pills this way. After she crushes the egg...

White Rock was my guess for the white girls too. I know there is a hatchery production chick out there that the adult is white with few spots but I can't remember the name. I wanna say it was star something. Thanks for your guesses, and yes both have the single comb

any barred rock chick sexing experts around?

Also dont know if you knew this or not...Hatchery chickens don't always follow the rules all the time but mostly girls will have black wash down the front of their yellowish legs, and then the white head spot is crisp and more round looking. I always think I'd it like girls putting on crisp...

any barred rock chick sexing experts around?

The only way I can really tell 100% is when the wing feathers start coming in. More black is pullet, more white is roo. Usually by the end of week one you can be sure

So I went to Tractor Supply to pick up a few things and was immediately drawn to the chicks, I mean seriously I just can't resist. We have 15 hens and 1 rooster already and have been itching for more pullets. The lady at tractor supply tried to tell me that I couldn't pick and I got what she...
