I have two EE I bought as pullets but suspect one to be a cockerel. They're almost 7 weeks old and the same size. The suspect Roo has rusty patches on its wings and a slightly bigger comb, although not very big or very pink. Thoughts? The first two pictures are the suspected cockerel and the...
Would this coloring be considered blue? She's also got this pretty gold coming out around her neck. I'm so curious to know what she'll look like if anyone has a gen that looked like her. She's 8 weeks if that makes a difference.
Yes. Electorolyes, probiotic, vitamin E, selenium and nutridrench.
Sadly, we culled her last night. She declined again and I couldn't maintain the care she needed right now.
They're 8 weeks. #1 is definitely the biggest and faster maturing. I was leaning toward him for that reason as well. #2 seems a little more social with me which is why I was feeling a little conflicted.
Was this in response to my post?
What makes you question the first one? He's the one I feel so sure about. He's always been bigger than the rest and stocky. His comb turned pink at about 4 weeks. His tail feathers are tall and narrow.
What can I do for my little Mottled Cochin to protect his feathers on his back? He appears to be at the bottom of the pecking order and his feathers are patchy.
Also, if we're planning on keeping him and another EE Roo, with 7 hens, will that be a problem for him? I really don't want to rehome...
Question about these two. I'm certain the first is a cockerel and pretty certain the second is. I want to keep one for my hens, but I'm not sure which one. Both have mild temperaments at this point and similar coloring. What other factors do you consider when choosing a Roo? The first has the 3...
That's what I'm struggling with as well. She seems happy and chirping and interested in food and water. Really full of life. But, she can stand or walk on her own and isn't improving there.
From what I've read, selenium is necessary to absorb vitamin E.
Hello, about a week ago one of our 5 week old chicks came down with Wry Neck. At first she was very weak, unbalanced and her neck was twisted. After treating with selenium, vitamin E and a chick vitamin supplement her neck improved, her eating and drinking is back to normal, but her balance and...
Help! I have a 6 week old chick that is suddenly acting very strange. She can't keep her balance and seem tired and weak. We've been treating all our chicks with corrid for the past week. Could the two be related? They all eat unmedicated chick starter and all other chicks seem ok at this point.
At what age do EE start to really show what color they will be? I see so many beautiful and colorful EEs here and my 4, 5ish weeks, are pretty much black or grey. The grey pullet does have some brownish/copper starting to show on the tips of all her feathers. I'm hoping they will all get some...
Oh, that's interesting. The first one pictured, who I've suspected to be a pullet has a pea comb, but it's not red or big. Hopefully she will lay beautiful blue eggs!
Gender guesses for these two? Both 5ish weeks.
This one is starting to get a copper color coming through on the tips of his/her feathers and chest.
This one almost has a rainbow sheen on his/her feathers.
I have 4 babies approx 5 weeks old. One I'm sure is a Roo. The other 3 I'm stumped on.
#1 Roo
#2
Brown coming through on her tips
And chest
#3
#4
This one has almost a rainbow sheen on her new feathers
Could they be ISA Brown pullets? Looking at pictures they certainly resemble them and I do remember TS had a tub full of them as well. I'm wondering if they swapped their signs.
About 5 weeks old. All black feathers with white under her chin. Eyes appear very dark and her comb is black/ light flesh colored. Legs/feet are black.
