    No eggs from new birds

I concur with Acre4Me. Also make sure they are getting plenty of free choice food. Layer mash free choice and scratch mix 2xdaily works for my hens. I am crazy and add a heat lamp that doesn't give too much light but enough to keep them laying and also give them a little comfort (I know some...

    Hi, everyone!

Welcome to BYC! Just keep in mind everyone raises poultry a little different depending on many factors to include of course climate and purpose. Some people can be very anal about the proper way to raise chickens but it never fails there are varied opinions on pretty much every subject. BYW...

    Chickens and Snow

I faithfully shoveled the snow out of the run after each snowfall the last time I had chickens. This time we put a roof on their run, it cost (400$) but I am really glad we spent the money. It was a fun project that my whole family (7) assisted in completing.

    Is this Molting or Pecking?

You need to observe them for awhile and make sure it is not pecking. Sounds to me that they are being pecked and chased around but you will need to observe to be sure. Sometimes any bird that sticks out will be pecked. Hope this helps.

2 week old chick with eye issues

Wish I could help. In commercial poultry I would say the ammonia is to high but with your I am sure that is not the case. Is there any other symptoms and how is the overall demeanor of the bird?

My Girlie was Killed by a Hawk- How do I keep her sissy happy

That is terrible, sorry. My chickens definitely had cliques and it was really funny to see them in their little groups. Not sure if getting another one the same color would work but you can always try. You cant go wrong with more BYCs. (quarantine any new fowl for at least 3 days and observe...

    First time incubator hatch

You can move it as long as it is dry but if you can hold off another day until it can get a buddy it may be better. Hope this helps.

Pic of the inside of the brooder. I rounded off the corners and after the initial use of the quart water bottles, I hang a 1 gallon water plasson.

    PLEASE HELP

I agree. I normally wouldn't want the expense of a vet check but they will be more equipped to help.
