Update - I opened the trap door. The older chicks now 6 weeks finally came out after the 4th day. I had to encourage them to get back in the coop after two hours, ie pick them up. The second day they went back in the coop on the own. The second batch of chicks have yet to venture out.
Raised this batch of chicks in the house. Last night was their first night outside in the coop. Should I let them out into the run today and if so for how long? And two - how hard will it be to get them back in the coop? Thanks. PS chicks are five weeks old.
Four wyandottes, one olive egger, and a rooster all sleep on the ground in the run. They have access to two coops. Why are they sleeping on the ground? Is this normal?
