Thank you everyone! Here is hoping that it is really a golden sex link (first gen). I love the color, I'd like to keep little Ginger. I'll update in a two months with the result!
I got this chick from criagslist and when I arrived it was a kid raising chicks. I wanted to go to the store but my husband opted to pick out chicks. We got them a few weeks old with wing feathers and tail feathers. The kid said this was a golden sex link and was pretty certain it was a girl. I...
I also want to know, mine is the same way and looks like the originals chicken... I want to know if mine will be a roo too. Newbyman did you find out what yours was? Mine is only 8/9weeks old
What makes you think its a boy? I mean I think it may be boy because of the late feathers, size and that its getting some pink in and that it stands tall when its looking through the widow for me... but I don't have any other chickens to compare it to (the last two I had were mixed...
I just gave up two 12 week old (half silkie half barred rock) that had similar neck feathering and saddle feathering because one started to crow... how old is it? They were just starting to get some shinny feathers in. I don't know the breed but it sure looks like my roo's... Is it hackling up...
I say wait another 4-8 weeks then you'll know for sure! I just gave up my first two chickens because at 12 weeks old one of them started crowing. I have what looks like to be RIR 8 week old chicken too that looks like a roo.... check out my from earlier today "Is Chirp and girl or Boy"... what...
Here is Chirp...[/IMG]
7-9 weeks old, stands tall , is getting some pinkish on its comb, seems to have late feathering. Likes to peep while it eats, likes to snuggle all the time, lets the kids play with it and enjoys the attention, and it would peep/sing in its sleep, likes to roost high and...
Thats what was confusing, they appeared to have black legs but then they began growing the barred feathers. As they got older their legs were dark grey with a yellow tent. But I think you are correct that they are both boys. I wish I could have kept them I would have loved to see how their...
A neighbor young man said it was his and he just put in the backyard hoping his other chicken would take care of it... he didn't know what it was. But it looks like a rhode island red. He let us keep it since we were taking good care of it.
I have the sweetest chicken he just wants to sit on my arm and snuggle. Trys to come in the house to hang out. He would rather roost on my arm then eat. He comes running if i wiggle fingers. He likes to watch us through our window. The kids give him rides in their cozy coupe all the time...
At least one turned out to be boy as it began crowing at 12 weeks old and was getting cream feathers on the wing! The other looked just like it but was getting black shinny feathers and was slightly smaller. I gave them away as a pair. Super sad they had the cutest mohawks.
Its looking like a roo, very late feathers, comb is turning pink at 9 weeks old, scrawny and stands tall... but it is the sweetest chicken ever. It just wants to sit on my arm. It would rather sit with me than eat.
My neighbor found this chic in his garage and noticed that in had two 6 week old chickens and gave it to me. Ive only had for a couple hours and its imprinted on me. Help me identify it.
