I'm sorry but I can't ship them. This was my first time owning chickens, so I really couldn't say for sure which type they are or for sure if it's a hen or a rooster. I didn't expect it to be so difficult to tell! Here's a picture of both of them.
I can't believe it. I finally found my leghorn a good home and two days later I swear my Golden Sebright was trying to crow this morning. I only had 4 chicks to begin with! If anyone in the Hudson / Tampa area is interested in a very nice looking bantam rooster please let me know....
This...
I finally found a home for my rooster today, and my 3 hens are all chirping and crying way past when they are usually asleep. Who knew there was such a thing as chicken guilt??
I have a white leghorn rooster about 2 months old that I am looking for a home for. This is our first batch of chicks and 1 was a rooster, which is against regulations where I live. :( He's friendly and healthy, please let me know if anyone in the area is interested.
Let's try this again, I accidentally started a whole new thread the first time...
I'm in Hudson and it seems that the buff 'something' pullet I purchased at Tractor Supply is actually a white leghorn rooster (I was told). Who began trying in earnest to crow this morning. :) My daughter...
They just told us that it was a 'buff'. We weren't really concerned with breed, my daughter just wanted a brown chicken so she could name it Nugget. We got them as pets. :) If it's a rooster we'll have to get rid of him unless it turns out to be the quietest rooster in history.
We got 4 pullets from Tractor Supply about 5 weeks ago, our first chicks. The one my daughter picked had a little comb by the third week, I included a pic of when we got her(?) and another from today, you can see pretty easy which one I'm talking about.
We aren't allowed to have a rooster...
So far they all seem to be doing good, they are certainly different from each other! The bantam is scared of us, the one I think is a buff orpington isn't scared but doesn't want to be picked up and will peck at you like crazy. Not that it hurts. The other two are pretty nice. Can't win them all...
Haha, that's great! I'm thinking of making the bottom half of my chicken coop out of beer bottles like the glass houses you see on Google, this would fit right in. :)
Thanks, I added apple cider vinegar to the water and I've been checking it for wood shavings and changing it once or twice a day. I took someone here's advice (probably several people's advice!) and set the water up on a little cardboard lid I have and the water's stayed MUCH cleaner.
I tried...
I had to look up what a Golden Sebright is, but now that I know I'm pretty happy about it! Except for the part that said they are really delicate as chicks. I was already nervous I'd do something wrong...
I bought 1 'assorted bantam' and I think it is the same as chick 6. I've never even heard of a Golden Sebright before, do you think that's what my little one is? these are my first chicks! Mine is a bit of a character already...
