Shoot thank you. 4 of the 7 chickens I got from TSC are boys. All 4 of those turned out to be something other than they were sold to me as 😭
I already have 2 roosters and we can’t handle any more.
I got chicks from Tractor Supply in April.
I’m not sure what breed this brown one is? It is the softest chicken I’ve ever had.
They said the gray one is a Prairie Bluebell.
They’re about a week apart. And 5/6-ish weeks.
Do you think they’re both pullets?
I have a chicken who has been sneezing (I think it’s a sneeze) for a couple weeks. It’s not a lot, but it hasn’t resolved. She also recently started gasping for breath at times. The past 2 days she’s been a little more lethargic and today I saw her sitting with her eyes closed for a bit. But...
Will do. They were just about acclimated together, so now everyone is in the run getting the pecking order drama over with. They’ll all be in the coop together from here on out.
And we’ll be getting a live trap out too.
No - I see no point of entry...which is why I was thinking it might be something small? Or if somehow they escaped during the day with kids going in and out and my husband didn’t notice when he shut everything up for the night. There were 4 walking around outside the run when I went down there...
Missing 10 11-week old chickens overnight. I found the bodies of 2 and feathers from 2 others. The other 6 I don’t see a trace of.
We had the in the run at night and during the day acclimating them with the 1 year old chickens.
Of course it’s all the favorites. My kids are going to be just...

Pictures 1-3 - bird A - that’s more golden
4th - bird B with more black
5th - both together
6th - bird B with more black
We are located in MN, so I was planning on doing to deep liter method. I've been stirring everything daily to get the poop dried out as fast as possible. They have been in the coop/run since I was giving them meds and didn't want them to get water from puddles.
After the first dose, I added an...
I am at my wits end. I have 7 chickens left (lost 4 since July). They are all between 20-22 weeks old - none have laid yet.
Is it possible to have a strain of coccidiosis that just won’t go away? I’ve been battling this for months.
I was advised to do a very strong dose of corid. I did 3 tsp...
Ok. Did the warm bath and put a finger in her vent.
I didn’t find anything hard internally. I’m not an expert, but everything seemed like I would guess it should. She pooped a bunch during the vent check, so that re-confirms that she’s pooping.
I have to run and grab the calcium citrate so I...
