Made one with two elbows and a 5 gallon bucket. Works great. Chickens will empty this feeder before going to the traditional hanging feeder.

My experience is that they're creatures of habit and will do what they know. I'd take old roost out.

Couldn't find the two youngsters when I went to close up the coop a minute ago. After getting a light I found em. Guess they decided to get as high as possible! And to GeauxLSU, Geaux Tigahs!

With two roosts everyone squeezed on the top roost. There wasn't enough room and had hens roosting in the studs of the walls.

The steps to the right were the original roosts. I narrowed them and used for steps. They all squeezed onto the top roost so I simplified things.

My son with his "orange chicken". Moved out of "town" to raise him with mud between his toes. So far so good!
