One of our chickens has a bare spot on her wing (pic). She has been this way for about 3 weeks and it hasnt got any better. Any ideas on what it is? What to do? Thanks!
We use hay... We were using pine chips, and that was fine, just seems they like the hay better and its lots cheaper. Out side the coop in their run during winter the hay definitely works better, if you get a little snow cover on it you just kick fluff it up.
I would think if you were within ordinances before they were changed that you would be grandfathered in... I wouldn't think it would take much more than a call from an attorney to get them to backup a bit... Wish you the best and sympathize with your plight.
My daughter and I are first year chicken farmers :) . We love her babies, 4 Red Sex Links... There were 5 but we lost one last summer to a hawk :( They have made it beautifully through the winter laying eggs throughout. We are looking forward to some summer fun with the Chics :cool:
