    I saw Kale on the toxic plant list but my chickens have been eating the stuff in the garden since last summer! I also was planing on planting iris's today but am wondering if I shouldn't with free range chickens and ducks. What do you guys think?

    We had them We had them in the brooder with the heat lamp. I told my husband we need to take the lamp away or put it up a lot higher. It stayed almost 80 in there... If the temp was lowered each week it would of been like 65 now. But they seemed to love it! They were always under the lamp...

    I'm in Skagit Valley and new to raising chickens. What is the general consensus on when I put my babes out in their coop, especially here in Western Wa? They are three weeks now. The brooder is starting to look small real quick! Three more weeks?

    Yay for chickens

    Hello everyone!! I just joined BYC and am new to raising chickens! I have 6 black sex link and 6 buff Orpington three week old chicks! I am so excited for a chapter in my life as a chicken owner :-) God Bless!
