    I just want to know that others just have bantams and they are happy with their choice ! I do not sell my eggs I tend to give them away as my chickens are pretty much my enjoyment .. we use the eggs though as I bake a lot and fresh eggs taste better !

    Love these !! And surely i would have better luck even at straight run .. :( my last 12 eggs hatched and out of the 8 that made it 6 were roosters ..lol .. I try to make light of the situation and laugh as i also have 4 boys who love helping me with the chickens , and all my other animals - cat...

    Do you have any pictures ? do these places have a large variety ? Ive been incubating .. but im getting way more roosters and i feel as though i could buy pullets maybe cheaper than hatching ..

    Im not worried about show either .. and i like broody hens .. but i have no egg laying broody bantams yet !! and that is a plus on vaccinations !

    If this is the wrong forum im sorry ! My question is are there any hatcheries that any one would recommend for bantams ? I am really debating on switching my whole flock over to the smaller chicken for space reasons and the fact that i enjoy them almost more than my standard chickens.. crazy...

    These are just the ones I can catch lol .. the rest aren't as friendly .. the frizzle is by far a favorite .. and the blue is soooo pretty I wish I had a big rooster with his color !! I was happy with the hatch until everyone started crowing lol ..

    So 2 pullets !! Thank goodness .. now to figure out which of these roosters to get rid of .. as I like the frizzle and the blue ... but my little red fellow is so fun to watch !!

    Here are some of the roos .. they are very defined .. and well cocky , hateful little things ! But i find i enjoy them more than my larger chickens ..

    Out of 8 .. so far I'm sure 6 are roos.. but these two are stumping me ... as I've not heard them crow .. yet .. what do you all think ?

    Baby chicks and hens .. when do they kick them out ?

    Wow .. I did not know 4 weeks could be the kick you out of the nest time!! Granted .. none of the bigger hens seem to bother her only baby so im hoping she did a good job .. I do know that the hen with the new babies doesnt seem to mind the older chick .. so maybe it will all work out ..

    I have a silkie who hatched off one lone egg - it wasnt hers but she was great and hatched it and now the chick is almost 4 weeks old she will have nothing to do with it . I have another hen who just hatched out 5 about 3 days ago and the older chick stays right with this hen now ..even sleeping...

    I hope i have better luck this spring .. and i pray my silkie will go broody for hatching season so i do not have to hatch in the house ! Thank you all !

    BOO :( .. oh well guess ill try hatching some more out come this spring ! I was so very hopeful !
