We have 18 chicks, bought two 3.5ftx3.5ft plastic kiddie pools and put one upside down on top of the other, zip tied them together and cut the top out. The chicks have more than enough room but we will be upgrading in a few weeks.

Well this is odd...I have 1.5 week Old barred rocks and just brought home 0 week old leghorns and decided to try them in the brooder together. The younger leghorns are bullying the barred rocks!

Running two thermometers, brightest section is 96F, the place they like to hang out is 86F.

Oh and I have a large brooder so the heat lamp only covers half of it, they stay right on the edge of the light.

Thanks! I ditched the yogurt and fed them hard boiled yolk, they love it. Took care of their little bottoms last night with warm water and cotton balls. Started them on sav a chick probiotic mixed in their water.

Just got my chicks yesterday, a few of them had pasty butt so I tried a small amount of yogurt mixed with crumble and they won't touch it. What am I doing wrong?
